On behalf of the Blakely Parent Teacher Organization: Welcome to Blakely Elementary School
Blakely PTO is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that provides support and added enrichment activities for all students at Blakely Elementary. All parents are automatically members of the PTO just by having kids at the school.
PTO Auction 2019: Sat 3/23 from 5:30-9:30pm
The Best of Blakely auction is an adults-only, social event for our entire parent and teacher community, which gives us an opportunity to come together in support of our school and its amazing staff. It’s a wonderful way to meet and mingle with other parents, as well as many of the Blakely staff members, in a fun & festive environment (without your kiddos in tow). While the main goal of the evening is to raise funds for our school, we strongly encourage you to consider attending just for the fun of it. No experience required! There will be items to bid upon at all levels, and full inclusion and participation is important to us, too!
The evening kicks off with cocktails and a silent auction (this will include the class baskets and many other fun items), followed by a sit-down dinner featuring the live auction & paddle call, Dessert Dash, and other tidbits to inspire you.
Seating for the evening is unassigned. Dress code is “Bainbridge date night” (whatever that means to you), and can be an opportunity to dress up if you like, or just be casual and comfy if that’s your preference.
We welcome your donations at any time! If you are donating on behalf of a specific student or event (e.g. Kindness Counts, 4th Grade Readathon), let us know. (You can indicate so in the MEMO of your check or NOTES section of the PayPal form and/or send a quick note to email@example.com.) Many thanks!
Outdoor Ed is a great tradition at Blakely. All of our 4th grade students take a 3-day trip to NatureBridge on the shores of Lake Crescent in the Olympic National Park in May. The students learn about nature as they participate in ongoing environmental science research and stewardship projects.

So much has happened in a week! We received word last week from two Blakely Elementary parents, who would like to remain anonymous, that they are providing a 5K CHALLENGE MATCH.
Make your donation – and see it doubled, dollar for dollar until February 1! Please hurry – our deadline to raise enough money to book the contract for the relocation is February 1st. We wish we had more time too – but this is the best course of action for our tree and the construction timeline.
Thank you to all the generous donors so far – you are all tree angels! Please help us spread the word with your friends and family with a social media post of your own, or an email. No need to reinvent the wheel – just copy text from our website and send out a personal note. They really make a difference. Each of us is influential within our own spheres and we appreciate your getting the word out.
Our website for donations is blakelypto.ejoinme.org/savethetree and find us on Facebook at Friends of the Blakely Elementary Japanese Maple for updates on the fundraising and for more info on what it takes to move a tree this size!

Hey Blakely families and alums out there! We are looking to collect some historic photos of the current Blakely Elementary's entrance. Do you or a family member have some old photos (non-digital) laying around in the family album? The current building opened in 1965, and BISD and BIHM archives are coming up empty. If you've got anything, please send a scanned copy of a photo of the building facade to firstname.lastname@example.org. Time is of the essence and we really appreciate any help! ... See MoreSee Less
