On behalf of the Blakely Parent Teacher Organization:
Welcome to Blakely Elementary School

Blakely PTO is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that provides support and added enrichment activities for all students at Blakely Elementary.  All parents are automatically members of the PTO just by having kids at the school.

Positive Discipline: Parenting with Confidence
Would you like to:

  • Discipline with kindness and firmness
  • Reduce your power struggles?
  • Encourage personal responsibility?
  • Find more joy in parenting?

If so, you may interested in joining a parenting group that will study the book Positive Discipline by Jane Nelson.

The group will meet on Wednesdays for six weeks, starting March 7 (not including Spring Break) from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Blakely library and will be facilitated by Peggy Koivu, a certified Positive Discipline trainer and retired teacher.

Thank you for your support!
The 2018 Blakely PTO Auction was a tremendous success! We would like to thank the countless families and community members who donated, attended, sponsored, baked, volunteered, and generally came together to make this happen. Your generosity on all levels is much appreciated. From the PTO, staff, and students, we thank you!

The BISD Multicultural Advisory Council is hosting Salon Night featuring a showing of:

A documentary about race in the United States

Thursday, January 18
6:30-8:30 p.m.
Large Group Instruction Room @ Bainbridge High School

"The Color of Fear" is a powerful documentary about race in America. It brings together - in one room - eight North American men: two African American, two Latinos, two Asian Americans, and two Euro-Americans who gather together and discuss the state of race relations in America as seen through their eyes. Their exchanges are at times dramatic and confrontational and at other moments compassionate and supportive, but all the while put in plain light the pain caused by racism in North America. While filmed in 1994, the subjects' conversation still holds relevance today as it continues to echo much of what we continue to hear about race in 2018.
